Kyocera Mita Europe Secures ISO 14001 Certification for Environmental Best Practice

On 4th April 2008 Kyocera Mita announced that all of its own sales subsidiaries in Europe and Africa have acquired ISO 14001 certification, demonstrating their compliance with the internationally recognised standard for Environmental Management Systems.

It enables organisations to develop and implement its policy and objectives, ensure compliance with environmental legislations and implement a programme of continuous improvement. In obtaining the ISO 14001 certification, Kyocera Mita’s European operation can show that its working practices and processes have been verified by third-party auditing.

Kyocera Mita sales subsidiaries in the following countries received certification, effective from March 2008: Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, France, Netherlands, Belgium, UK, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Switzerland, Austria, South Africa. Establishing ISO 14001 in sales offices is a further step in Kyocera Mita’s ongoing aim to reduce environmental impacts. All Kyocera Mita production plants in the world have already achieved ISO14001 certification.

Kyocera Mita has focused on producing environmentally-friendly products for decades, such as the cartridge-free ECOSYS range, which uses long-life components and only one consumable – toner – to reduce waste consumables.

Tracey Rawling Church, Marketing Director of Kyocera Mita UK said: “We are absolutely thrilled that our European and African subsidiaries have been awarded the ISO 14001 accreditation. We have been working hard in the UK towards this, but to have this extended into Europe is a fantastic achievement.”
